JANUARY

Fri 5th: Short rehearsal to kick off the year: Woodend

GIG: Tue 9th: 1st Gig at Reynella Lodge; New Years Party 2pm          

Fri 12th: 7pm; “Looking back, looking forward”; + try new music   

Fri 19th:  Woodend 7:00pm Training Band commences                                                                           7:40 Launch of the “Swing Band”    8:20 Main Club Band

Fri 26th: Australia Day:   NO CLUB tonight, but lots happening in the community: get out and about to a local Aussie Breaky, go to a Citizenship event mid morning, have a barbie with friends, go to the beach, have a beer or great Aussie wine...

Fri 2nd: Rehearsal at Woodend (Brass ensemble tonight also)   

Fri 9th: NO CLUB: “WOMADelaide”is on this LONG weekend: try and come along to it; fantastic array of different cultures, styles, food, clothes... wonderful family friendly, relaxed  atmosphere; but look what we are doing on monday. Mon 12th Public Holiday:   Coast & Vines Social event from 12:15 for lunch  at Kacey & Cindy’s place. Then we went and played in the Park  about 2:30. The Celtic group was “born” this afternoon.... look out for it

The Fringe is on, Clipsal 500, Adelaide Cup, the Film Festival etc etc what a great city Adelaide is with all its events in “Mad March...”

Sat 24th: Gig (no 3): 2- 4 pm:-  Jean’s 80th Birthday at the “Aussie Inn” at Hackham                (Daylight Saving finishes tonight so put clocks back an hour and enjoy a sleep in)

Fri 30th: McLaren Vale

APRIL

(Sun 1st; Special concert at Adelaide Uni showcasing most of the SA bands which are heading off to Melbourne on Easter Sat. for the National Band Titles.       This will be such a treat to hear Concert, Brass and Junior Bands which have been preparing for the last 3 months... its a gold coin entry at Union Hall)

Fri 6th: NO CLUB: Good Friday/Easter weekend:  National Band Championships are on in Melbourne & a few Coast & Vines players are involved.

Fri 13th: Our 1st Birthday this week !!          

Celebratory “Combo” rehearsal at Woodend

Sat 14th: Gig(no 4) at Willunga Market (Alma Hotel) 10:10am arrive                                                    Play 10:30 then have a lunch together to celebrate           

Fri 20th: McLaren Vale

Wed 25th: ANZAC DAY Many players are participating around Adelaide for Dawn services and other special events

Fri 27th: Woodend “Combo” to rehearse for ...                                                                                Sun 29th: 2pm  Gig at the Almond Train/ Carriage Cafe McLaren Vale (Note: if inclement weather... no play)

I had such fun riding on the Tuba cases with wheels in Melb.. no sniffer dogs at the airport, luckily

Rasdus is doing really well; in fact we have started looking at exam material on the piano; of course only Preliminary level..

JUNE

Fri 8th: LONG WEEKEND: Woodend session 7pm - 9:15 ish; then out for a special supper at Cafe Buongiornos O’Halloran Hill; sensational pizza !

Fri 15th: Woodend: rehearse for Sat night’s gig  Sat 16th: Gig(no 5); Anne Marie’s 21st Birthday party was a resounding success; fun, food, friends, family and lots of music

Fri 22nd: McLaren Vale

Fri 29th: Woodend: including some Swing Band                                      

AUGUST

Fri 3rd: Woodend- Fun Night with a difference

(Sun 5th Strathalbyn Band Festival)

Fri 10th: No Club tonight

(Sun 12th State Concert Band Championships at Adelaide Uni; Scott Theatre: 9:30 -4pm)

Fri 17th: NO CLUB tonight

Fri 24th: Woodend

Fri 31st: Woodend: “Combo”

SEPTEMBER

Fri 7th: Woodend

Fri 14th: Woodend; “Combo” final run through

Sun 16th: Gig (no 7) City to Bay Fun Run

Location: Anzac Hyw + Cross Rd on the footpath outside Marcellina’s Pizza Bar    (Arrive 7:45 am via Marion Rd then go down Cross Rd and either turn last right into Mornington Rd, then left onto Anzac Highway OR simply park on the left side of the road near the corner + walk across carefully)

Fri 21st: McLaren Vale 7:10-9:15pm

Fri 29th: LONG WEEKEND: Woodend practice with supper out at Buongiourno’s after an early finish at 9pm

October

Fri 5th: NO CLUB (Due to the State Titles for Brass Bands at Tanunda)

Fri 26th: Woodend “Combo”

Sun 28th:  GIG (no 8) at Pt Noarlunga “FIESTA” at the Slippery Fish Restaurant 12 - 2:30 (Arrive 11:15 via Witton Rd & park nearby, as the streets are all closed in Pt Noarlunga)

We are launched Danny & Irene’s House Light display again this year

II hear they have been designing a couple of new items... “Smile & wave boys”

November

Fri 7th: NO CLUB as several or us are in Blackwood Pageant

Sat 8th: Griffith Uni research session/ interviews 4 -5:30pm

Fri 14th: Woodend Last rehearsal for the year

Sat 15th: GIG (no 12) at Sandpiper Tce TBC

Fri 21st: Breakup/GIG (no 13) at Sandpiper Tce 6pm drinks, nibbles, meal, awards, then play at Danny & Irene’s.. (Santa is coming)
